Members present: Nico, Laurel, Taryn, Anne, Charlie (taking minutes) -- Director: Ana
CALLED FOR THURSDAY:
SETS: DAVIDA, EVE, JEREMY
PROPS: ROSE, MICOL
Ms. Bradford: My prefrontal cortex is probably now eroding *flips hair*... Sweet sweet snaps.
Taryn: You made me spit out m'sauce. *tips tomato*
Laurel: I said, "thanks fam," and she said "did you just say 'Genghis Khan?'"
- Working on time management: starting/stopping on time
- Wigs: how practical are really long wigs?
- Wigs are currently too long, too Disney Princess-y
- Short hair existed in the 1980s
- Tuesday meetings:
- Check-in / what's working / what to tweak
- We can set agendas for the Thursday meetings
- They don't need to take all of lunch
- Rehearsal is moving slightly slower than we'd like, but is still on track
- People are getting off-book on scenes
- People are putting work in, so that's nice
- Schedule:
- When is there no school in December/January?
- There are days that people often miss, how can we utilize those?
- What does Ana need help with right now?
- She's good right now, working on choreography is going pretty well
- Give folks lead-time in terms of scheduling and get it in return
- Have back-up plans
- Over-plan and pare it back rather than finishing early
- Be careful about cast divides/cliquey stuff
- Trust that people will understand your reasons
- Phones: GET OFF YA PHONES. No videos or Snapchat or texting or Instagram or calling or blergh
- Everyone will be reminded of this fact
- Similarly: Transition talking makes everything less efficient. You don't have to be totally silent, but stay on your toes when you need to be on your toes
- Positivity greases the wheels: people don't need to feel bad. This gives them an out for minor errors.
- "I know it" isn't okay -- that may be true for you, but it messes up everyone else
- Meetings are sometimes superfluous. That's just a fun work-life thing, eh?
- Fun fact: If someone hasn't done something, and then does it. It is the first time.
- Thursday requirements:
- Set people will have read the script several times and will arrive with a plan
- Costume budget will be considered
- Cheesy sometimes works... remind people to work together
- We will have the Thursday calls for Thursday meetings
